Temperature and hours of sunlight |
In ancient times Paphos was the capital of Cyprus and lies in an area of incredible natural beauty.
The charming and historic town of Paphos, with its picturesque harbour and many ancient sites, has become the most popular resort in Cyprus. The town is expanding rapidly and attracts many visitors throughout the year, so the choice of entertainment and restaurants is endless.
Shopping and sports facilities are excellent and the island's first three full size golf courses operate in the Paphos area. The area also contains many of the archaeological treasures of Cyprus that are included in the official UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list. The spectacular coastline around Paphos is unparalleled and the whole area is in a wonderful position for exploring the unspoiled Akamas peninsula and the Troodos Mountains.
Kato Pafos is the area that most people associate with as this is the area close to the harbour and fort and it attracts thousands of visitors each year, this makes it an ideal location for your holiday in the sun. The air temperatures range from 10-20 degree C off-season up to 25-35 degree C in the summer season. Cyprus is +3 hours from last Sunday in March to Saturday before last Sunday in October, otherwise it is +2 hours from GMT.
Paphos is ideal for combining the pleasures of sightseeing with some relaxing beach life and boasts a fascinating old town of winding alleyways, markets and shops. The town is really divided into two - a quaint fishing harbour and an atmospheric Old Town, both are relaxing and beautifully unhurried. Nearby is the popular and pretty harbourside area, guarded by a looming Venetian Fort and bordered by numerous open air terraced restaurants, cafes and bars where you can catch your breath inbetween bouts of sightseeing. The Old Town is a real shopping emporium made up of narrow street housing numerous stores and a lively market to roam around. Culturally Paphos has much to keep you occupied, with plenty of ancient historical sites and monuments to explore such as the awesome Tomb of the Kings and ancient mosaics, close by. There's also the chance to savour some Cypriot legend at Aphrodite's Rock, where the goddess of Love was believed to have been born from the seas.

Paphos Harbour |
If you feel like hitting the beach, there are a number of small sandy bays dotted in and around the town, many of which offer watersports and scuba-diving. The best curve of golden sand is at Coral Bay, a short bus ride away.Make sure you get back into town for the evening though, the harbour bars and fish restaurants are the perfect place for a lazy supper and ideal for discussing your day's discoveries. There's also the opportunity to check-out the Bouzouki clubs and bars scattered around the harbour where you will find a good supply of night-time activity, these are certain to see you through until the early morning.
The apartments and its complex constructed during 2005 by a recognised local reputible builder of quality homes / villas / apartments in southern Cyprus. The self-catering apartments provide quality and comfort for our guests. From the balcony you overlook the "8" shaped swimming pool, with walkover arch bridge, and views to the south Mediterranean Sea on the right.

The apartment overlooks the communal swimming pool and being on top floor (second floor) has no noisy neighbours upstairs. There are stairs if you like the exercise or lift if you're like me. It is quietly situated but there are many shops, bars and restaurants (tavernas) located a walk from the complex as is the historical harbour area and the Cosmopolitan Bar Street area.
This area boasts over 250 different bars, restaurants, street cafes and clubs to suit everyones tastes. Paphos also have the best watersports in Cyprus and well worth a visit. Within the apartment there is a guest/visitor folder with a wide range of information on the many varied places to go, see and do.....Most shops are open 8am to 1pm then 4pm till late and the banks are open in mornings only. The old market area of Pafos Town is 20 minute walk away and open every day.
Within the apartment it has the usual furnitures and fixtures and also
the following items:

* Air Conditioning
* Hair Dryer and tongs
* Ironing Board & Iron
* Step Stool
* Inflatable Pump & Blow-Ups
* Sun Canopy and Pole for beach use
* Cool Bag
* Bread Toaster
* Sandwich Maker / Toaster
* Electric Kettle
* Safe lock box for valuables
* Remote TV with Satellite connection to world-wide channels
* CD Hi-Fi Radio player and DVD player
* At the swimming pool there are 4 Nos. D:202 adjustable sun loungers and parasol with weighted base.
* By the pool area there are male and female toilets, changerooms, showers and stores.
The kitchenette off the living room has an electric hob, oven, fridge/freezer, sink, etc and the usual range of kitchen appliances/gadgets, etc.
Both the bedroom and living room have 3 speed pull cord "coolie" fans with lights. Separate pull cords for fan or light or both.
The apartment is provided with a change of bed linen and towels each week and these are exchanged, normally after each week, dependent on duration of stay. General cleaning and tidiness is the responsibility of the apartment visitors. Apartment shall be cleaned and ready for next visitors upon your departure, by our cleaners. The apartment has one bath towel and one hand towel per person per week. I suggest that you take with you adequate towels as being hot, showering, pool, beach has much need and towels are used more, than unused clothes taken with you!!
The apartment has double security locked from entrance door and requires two full turns and a quarter turn to open, anti-clockwise. The balcony doors from the bedroom and living room have a push down latch to open and to close. Door key is issued in the UK in SAE (jiffy bag) by postal service. The safebox key and paddlock key for sunloungers are in the apartment for use during your stay.
Upon arrival at Paphos international airport simply collect your suitcases / belongings and take a taxi to Diana Gardens which is approximately 15 mins. or 8 miles with a fare of approx £16 GBP or £14 CYP. A location map of Paphos Town and places to visit/see are marked on a street map sheet and issued with the keys by me in the UK. My cleaner and her husband can arrange airport transfers to and from and full details are provided upon booking the apartment.

There are 2 airports in Cyprus with Paphos airport only a 20 minute drive away, the other in Larnaca is about 1 and 1/2 hours away. A taxi from Paphos airport to the apartmnet costs around £14 CY or you can pre-book an airport transfer or hire car through my cleaner / managment company who offer competitive deals.
Below are a few flight companies who fly direct to Paphos, but it is worth shopping around as prices can vary.

To give an idea of the savings that you can make by booking an apartment direct and organizing your own flights I have done an example using this years J.M.C. Family Holiday Brochure. The following illustration is based on 4 adults sharing the apartment. If 4 adults were to book a 7 day holiday in a self catering apartment in Cyprus in August through J.M.C. they would pay approx. £725 each therefore the total cost would be £2,980.
In comparison the apartment would cost £260 for the week plus taxi, say £300 and the average price for flights from the UK to Cyprus is £250* making a total cost for 4 flights £1,000 add this to apartment rental and the total holiday bill is £1300.
This gives you a saving of £1,680 more than halving the cost of your holiday
Remember these prices are based on what I think is an expensive flight package so the cheaper you can get the flight the more you will save!
You may think that I have scoured the brochures looking for the most expensive apartments I could find. Not true! The prices quoted were taken from the first brochure I looked at which was the J.M.C. Family Holiday Brochure and if you don't believe me then take a look at some holiday brochures and check out prices for yourselves!
*Flight prices to Cyprus vary between £99 and £299 depending on time of year but on average cost approx £200 per person.
